Triangle Receives Rave Reviews at TheatreWorks
July 21, 2015
Story Image

I couldn't be happier with the audience and the critical response to our World Premiere of Triangle on July 11, 2015 at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley! Thanks to our amazing cast, director, designers, and production crew who have collaborated with us to make this piece of magic.

“Triangle” is astonishingly successful. The Moore-Mizer score is rich in melody and emotion…what really counts here is just how moving the stories are and how the songs heighten the emotion without cheapening it. — San Francisco Chronicle

…a fulfilling and well-crafted musical theater experience with a deep and heart-stirring humanity.  San Francisco Examiner

With a killer cast, excellent stage direction by Meredith McDonough, and a lush far-reaching score by Curtis Moore [and Thomas Mizer], this multilayered work will grab your heart in unanticipated ways, and leave you pondering the great intelligence of this piece.  Stark Insider

Ingeniously crafted… “Triangle” is a triumph. It is not to be missed!  Out and About Magazine

A beautiful new musical …engaging the audience immediately with humor, romance and pathos. And with a fabulous score, delivered by a cast of deeply impressive singers and an excellent pit orchestra, with ear-worm melodies that happily stay with us when we leave the theater. …it is rare that so fine a [music theatre writing] team emerges.  Regarding Arts

"The original music by Curtis Moore, a constant presence in the hands of Ryan Nestor and Jonathan Hepfer on an array of percussion and stringed instruments, gives the production a unified vitality almost flawless. "

Triangle is a hit!
April 12, 2014

Triangle - Drive Away Triangle

Tom and I are extremely happy with the ridiculously strong and positive response we've received for our new workshop production of Triangle in Oklahoma City. Here's an excerpt from Oklahoma City's main newpaper:

Mizer’s deft lyrics and Moore’s sophisticated score yield many humorous and touching moments… It’s hard to imagine a stronger, more capable cast than that assembled here. Their splendid voices receive fine musical support from conductor James Sampliner and his offstage orchestra… while Michael Baron’s expert direction allows the production’s considerable emotional range to work its magic.

With its compelling story and attractive score, “Triangle” seems destined to have a promising future. Thanks to the commitment and talent of people like Moore, Mizer and Baron, such prospects will surely be realized. Rick Rogers, The Oklahoman
